Photography Thoughts

The Alamo San Antonio Texas

Photography is painful and fun. I’ve spent a considerable amount of money
perusing photography. I always wonder if it’s worth the cost.
I’m using Canon cameras that aren’t full frame, but the pictures are still good.
But should I purchase a full frame camera, used of course.
Or should I just purchase prime lenses? The debate goes on.

Sometimes I get lucky and take a great picture. The picture is close to
perfect. It has the right light, color and depth of field. Then what do I do with it?
I wonder if anyone cares to actually see the picture? I’m impressed
but they might not be and do I want to listen to their criticisms?
Also, how to I save and document the pictures?

I watch YouTube videos with all those pro-photographers giving
intense reviews of all the cameras and lenses available.
I’m watching them and realizing they aren’t talking to me!
The equipment is stuff I’ll never buy, can’t afford it.
Where is the guy/girl talking about how to use the camera you have
and getting some great pictures? The one person I’ve watched that
meets that presentation is Simon d’Entremont.
Simon d’EntremontSimon is a professional photographer from
Canada and focuses on wildlife photography.
He offers lots of information on how to take better pictures.
Definitely worth checking out.

The Reviewer’s

I watch reviewer’s videos, and it is interesting to watch.
When they show all the detail differences between
cameras and lenses.  But they still miss the biggest audience.
Most people will never get those expensive cameras.
They will use their cell phone cameras and be happy.

I do like Tony & Chelsea Northrup
This husband-and-wife team have lots of reviews of camera equipment.
They show all the various pros and cons with different camera brands.
They also talk about lenses and how to use them.
It’s all great but I wish they would spend more time on just
using what you have to get a good picture.

My photography equipment:

My camera equipment is a Canon T3i and Canon 70D.
Both cameras are APS-C sensors.
The lenses I use are 18-135mm, 75-250mm and
my favorite 100-400mm Canon zoom.
