Soldotna Alaska 8/18

Saturday 8/18/18 stayed here 2 weeks
We are in Soldotna Alaska and its cold! The first day we got to Donna & Roland’s
home we had 2 babies and a mamma moose in the yard! Over the weekend we
saw many more moose in the Soldotna area. This little town has everything you
need here. There is a Fred Meyer’s and a Save Way in town along with McDonald’s,
Arby’s, Home Depot and more.

We bought a pizza at Pappy Murphy’s and guess what? They don’t actually cook the pizza!
You have to bring it home and cook it yourself. The pizza is very tasty and a little pricey.

Everyone here has a moose and bear story and most of the bear stories aren’t good.
You could run into a bear anywhere in Alaska.

The Kenia River runs right through Soldotna and Donna & Roland’s home is right on the river.
Amazing to see but the river is constantly moving about 7 knots, very fast.

The nice thing about driving around here is; there are only a few roads.
One road going to Kenia from Soldotna and one other road going from
Anchorage to Homer and one last road going over to Seward and Whittier.
