Resist Paying Paywalls

Money

Resist paying for paywalls on the internet.
That adds up faster than cable TV ever cost.
Everyone with a website or channel wants you to pay them.
There is always a Join, Patreon or Buy Me a Coffee button.
I know why: Google has cut their payouts to creators.
Also, creators have learned they can get much more with paywalls
and promotional items.

The creators are getting some money from YouTube,
some money from sponsorships and the pay me more wall.
In many cases I wouldn’t mind paying a little money to support
them. But I’m already paying YouTube Prime membership,
and they want more money than I’m willing to pay.
The creators aren’t asking for $2 or $3, they want $5 and $10 or more!
It’s all out of control.

If a good creator with lots of followers gets 1000 people to pay them
$5.00 per month. That’s $5,000 a month and $60,000 a year.
I don’t have any problem with them making money like that.
But to their loyal followers it should be a reasonable price.
Many good creators don’t have paywalls!
There might be a donate button. They want people

to see what they are creating. I’d rather send them $20 occasionally
rather than sign up for $10 a month! Imagine how well
some creators are doing when they have a million of subscribers.
