Lightning struck our house twice in two days!
How lucky was that? The first strike was on the south side of the
house. The second struck on the northside!
The kitchen is on the south side and an EMF came through
from the lightning bolt. Everything with a 3′ wire
was burnt up! My computer had two 3′ VGA to HDMI cables
going to the monitors. Both burnt up! The monitors and the computer are
fine! All the kitchen lights in the ceiling burnt up, all have 3′ wires.
I thought we were very lucky to have so lost so little.
Then the next day a bolt of lightning hit the northside of the house.
A power surge came through the cable wire into the back of the modem.
It blew up the modem, router and all power supplies on the plug it was
connected to. That AC connector was working on our solar power system.
I was worried it might have broken the solar inverter.
The solar power system survived.
We got lucky again. We replaced the modem, router and Samsung Soundbar
power supply. Everything seems to be working fine.
Nearly everyday there is thunder storm in our area of Tampa Bay.
Now I’m worrying about getting hit again.
