Frugal Tips Too Save Money

Rick & Karen

Frugalite, frugalian, frugalist which are YOU!?
Everybody knows many ways to save money.
But nobody knows everything. Only Elon’s Grok knows everything.

Here are some ideas to re-think about!

Hang your washed clothes outside on a clothesline.
The electric dryer uses a lot of power.

Put a switch on your electric water heater. Turn it off when you
don’t need it. Most people leave it running while they are on
vacation! Water heaters are very expensive. Solar water heaters are better.

Use the library more. Get books, music and videos.

Repair what is repairable.

Use cash instead of Credit cards. Some Credit Cards charge over 30% interest!

Subscriptions should be reviewed every month. Stop those
you don’t actually use. You can always re-subscribe later.

Make gifts instead of buying them.

Insulate your windows in the summer to save money on AC bill.

Use less electricity, learn about solar and power stations.
Maybe consider buying 1000-watt power station and a solar panel.

Avoid wasting food. Freeze what you can’t eat immediately.

Make a grocery list before going to the grocery store. Choose fresh food.

Learn how to sew and mend your clothes.

Drink water not soda or beer. You don’t want the calories.

Bring your own food to work. McDonald’s is a place you can’t afford anymore!

Use coupons and apps that save you money when possible.

Borrow things you need instead of buying a new stuff.

Start a garden. Learn how to grow your own vegetables.

Downsize ASAP, get rid of all the junk. It’s all a burden you don’t need.

Christmas is a whole other subject. Please come back to

Collect all the rainwater you can for your garden.
Walmart 30-gallon trash barrels are about $20.

Buy used when possible. Look at Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace etc.

Shop at farmers markets for your vegetables. Support local producers.

Buy a bike and use it for store trips. Get a basket for the bike.

Limit takeout food, especially Fast-Food Joints. A hamburger isn’t worth $10!

Boil your chicken twice for good stock. Makes Soups and casseroles.
We boil the chicken then remove as much meat as possible.
Then re-boil all the bones again for our chicken stock.

Put your small pieces of soap in a water container. Or you can
make new bars with the little pieces.

Avoid extended warranties. Except computers. I don’t know why
but I don’t trust high tech electronics.

Turn off the AC at night. Consider not using central AC. Using a
room air-conditioner is cheaper. You are only in one room at any time!
